Silent Crosses and Hushed Tears

Silent crosses
scrape the earthy
floor of my heart
creating trenches
of sadness and heartbreak

I try to lift
the crosses
so they are not so heavy
my shoulders are tired
my chest is weak

looking downward
the brown murky dirt
meets my gaze
so dry so dusty
I pray for rain
to wash away the ache

Hushed tears
fill the trenches
with each step
footprints are graved
filled with faint hope
but mostly dread

Change is needed
prayer is choked
with vines of doubt
fear of voicing hurts
words are left unspoken
the ache continues

Potential Miracles

Miracles
currents of
positive energy
creating
faith and hope

Our hearts
experience joy
and relay
courage
to go
another mile

Everyones take on miracles is different. Someones miracle to others may seem like
just a stroke of luck, while to that person it could mean living another day.

Hushed Yesterdays (He that Hath an Ear)

Braille lyrics
to her song
music
her love
melody
of wishes
listen
they speak!

Words
forgotten yet
remembered
in her heart
refrained voice
stanzas of
forget me nots
bouquet of her life!

Fragrance
of beauty
from within without?
compelled to compose
her song!
instrument
of compassion
symphony
of love and life

Today My Heart Remembered

Thanking God for the gift of memory. Through this precious gift, my heart can still see, hear, feel, and embrace the wonderful ~ treasures of my childhood. Dedicated to my dear mother who suffers with dementia. I will recall and visit your memories, I will tell you your stories so you can visit your precious sun-kissed days.

Today my heart remembered…

Echoes
childhoods past
footprints
in summers
sweet green grass
lazily walking
through fields of wheat
feeling the touch
cool earth on my feet

Untroubled laughter
still winged in the air
carried away
by bluebirds so fare
the songs ~ the carefree
rest in the clouds
released gentle rains
bring rainbows aloud

Splashes of dreams
still ripple in lakes
carried by driftwood
my heart it awakes
reflections in ripples
bless me in poem
through arbor of verse
softly I roam

Sun-kissed days
still shine through greys
stealing small doubts
vining the way
warmth of small smiles
that melt ice of fear
feeling the love
bringing memories near

Blessings
this season
embossed in snowflakes
a gift from my Saviour
His purpose ~ no mistakes
chapters of life
He allows me to share
carefully chosen
gift wrapped with care

Hidden (Sometimes Life)

Concealed
flowing tears
hidden fear
a heart so heavy

Engulfed
with anxiety
to much ~ too many
not enough hours

Compassion
overflows
soul filled with longing
an ache to become complete

Distance
fashionable safe
never revealing true dreams
is it too late?

Comforted
through sorrow
conversations not complete
opinion or argument?

Needed
by so many
never mending own heart
frays of coloured yarn

Aspire
peace of mind
heart of content
allowed to be ones self

Life
circle of circumstances?
deemed meant to be?
part of a divine purpose~
in HIs word on His mind
Calvary

Refined Rainbows

Amble down
the cobblestones
patterns change
my every step
colours blend with
cold grey stone
crumbling beneath
worn shoes

Pigments mixed
between the cracks
confuse the artist
of the canvas
portrait of the
life now shades
under tones
of sadness

Never change
the canvas
for in it
lies their soul
mix the colours
blend the hues
with fashion
refined rainbows

Love Prevails

Crevices deep within the heart
hold the truest love
a vein of gold the band that holds
around her tiny finger

Worn from years of constant labor
his hand still bears the ring
symbol of infinite affection
constant reminder of true love

Endure through blinding walls of hail
the winds try hard to break the course
love remains their bond of strength
through dementia love prevails

We face many challenges in this life. For richer or poor, in sickness in health…

My parents have faced a lot of uphill climbs throughout their years of dedicated love together.

This recent mountain seems so very steep rugged and sometimes out of reach of the victory at the top of the climb; but today was a “VICTORY’ stop, a rest on their way to the top.
Today my dearest daddy visited his loving wife in her new home Rockwood. Love holds no bounds, even through dementia love was visible.

There are more challenges to face but together as a family our love creates a bond that seems to give strength and courage when you feel you have none left.

Please continue to hold my parents in your thoughts and remember to whisper their names in your prayers.

God Bless
Thank you
