As angels hovered They said goodbyes Through the mist Of Jordans chill Shadow of cross As time gave way They felt the urge to pray They clung To her breast Stained with tears Jordans waters Filled her lungs Stealing the breath That once sustained Leaving behind A weary shell Sweet presence lingered But for a moment As the glory Embraced her soul There was no doubt What ever the cost Eternal life her prize KJS

Homecoming
Cautious the winds
She wisps in and out
Weaving through realms
Of courageous war
Her spirit roams
Visiting familiar yet
Surveying regions
Careful not to embrace
To embrace would mean
She’d come home to stay
leaving behind earths magic
Restraints of gravity
Silent tearing catching destiny
Thus quick gasp of breath
Embrace now deliberate
Steady exhale of eternity

In The Arms Of Back Home
Morning songs on the wings of tomorrow
Evening walks in the shade of yesterdays
Where memories become springs of living water
Onward I go my work nearly done
Lay me to rest in the fields of sweet clover
Where the dew kisses the dawn
Footprints of angels mark the path to my homeland
Oh lay me to rest in the arms of back home
How I long for peace of wind in the poplars
fragrance of birch in the cool autumn nights
strength of the jack pine holds me fast to my journey
The sun now sets on the lake of the woods
My eyes close in death as I bid my farewell
To the place my heart has called home
I cross over Jordan with no backward glance
The sunsets behind me I reach that fare shore
